As the women hurried to the tomb with their spices, they were asking each other on the way, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb? (Mark 16:3).
Yesterday,we spoke about paths. And we realized that, we cannot point out certain paths to be right or wrong. Due to our unique individual purposes and the choices made by us.
We therefore get stuck and we begin to search who among men can help.
In the story, we realized that the women had good intentions. They woke up and decided to undertake a mission. A mission of cleaning and anointing Jesus’ body.
The book of Matthew 27 lets us know that, the stone was sealed to the tomb itself according to Pilate and the Chief Priests’ order. Nothing could get in nor come out of the tomb.
Nevertheless, all the women could think of was Jesus Christ; the supposed dead man. The only man who could have answered their riddle of ” who will roll away the stone” for us. They had every right and prove to believe He was lying in the tomb. But only didn’t know how to roll away the stone to get access to the body.
Now the number one lesson from this passage is faith. Regardless, of the “supposed Jesus’ ” death, the sealed stone and the orders from Pilate, they still took off. They asked themselves that question after they had left.
And they believed that something will definitely go right for them to anoint the body.
But when they sought answers and believed even in their doubts, the best of the best happened. They lifted up their head and saw the stone already rolled away. (Am sure they must have been looking on the ground as they were going) lol.
Many of us live our life’s as though the stone still exists in front of the grave. As though Jesus is still dead and as though He is unable to help us or deliver us. We cry ourselves out and begin to question the unquestionable God. In fact, we sometimes even “insult” His majesty.
Jesus was a normal human being like us. And He showed us what life could be if we lived in our highest self. He showed us what manner of men we can be. He walked the talk. And His words never fell to the ground.His healing, miracles, deliverance were instant. Why? Because He believed in Himself and His father. He knew what authority He had and what He could do with it.
In fact, Mark 16:17-18 says 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
However, our ego deceives us. It tells us blah blah blah. That its just not possible. Thinking its crazy to live in a world of miracles. But dear, bible says that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit on all people. His sons and daughters will prophesy, our young men will see visions and our old men will dream dreams. That sounds too good to be true but believe you me, its true.
The world we created initially was hell. And Jesus came with an offer, Heaven.
Funny enough, we believe heaven is not in our comfort zone. But believe in magic. Fearing that we will meet the same fate(death) as Jesus when we step out of the box.
A life worth living is spent after the resurrection, freeing ourselves from this ego driven world.
But fear not. Have faith and look up to the rolled stone. Be happy.
Our Savior is risen. Hallelujah!
